Goldie M. Shickel age 93 of Normal IL. 61761 passed away at 6:32 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Heritage Healthcare, Normal IL. Her funeral mass will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 527 W. Jackson St., Bloomington IL Fr. Joseph Baker will officiate. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Transitions Hospice.
Arrangements are being handled by Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.

Goldie was born March 28, 1924 in Bloomington, IL the daughter of Francis and Lela Quiggins Probus. She married Lewis Shickel, he precedes her in death.

Surviving are her 6 children, Frank Shickel, Bloomington, IL, Shirley (Richard) Downen, Normal, IL, Donnie Shickel, Bloomington, IL, Sharon O’Brien, Bloomington, IL, Terry (Vickie) Shickel, Bloomington, IL, Debbie (Barry) Gillespie, El Paso, IL, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Charlotte Moews, Normal, IL.

Goldie is preceded in death by her parents, 1 granddaughter, 2 infant great-grandsons, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
